INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR SONICS V. WOLVES

Pre-game inteview tonight with Minnesota Head Coach Dwane Casey at 4:20.

Numbers
  • There are 6 teams in the NBA with an EFG% defense better then 46% and there are only 6 teams in the NBA on the other spectrum with an EFG% over 50%. The Wolves are in the defensive elite and the Sonics are in the defensive basement.

  • Sonics should get a possession advantage on the boards where the Sonics are #3 in the game in offensive rebounding and the Wolves are 29th

  • Sonics have to keep Minnesota off the line they are 29th in the league in FTA and that is the reason they are struggling offensively, the shoot well, the don’t turn it over but they never get to the line.

  • Over the last 10 Games .....
  • Minnesota is the 27th ranked offensive team in the game and the Sonics are #2 behind Detroit

  • The Sonics are worse defensively (115.8) then they have been for the entire season (114.5). Minnesota is #3 defensively in this span

  • Sonics are the #2 offensive rebounding team at 36.5%

  • Minnesota is averaging just 19.2 free throw attempts per game
