Locked on Sports: Steroid scandal means it's time for Selig to say goodbye

Locked on Sports: Steroid scandal means it's time for Selig to say goodbye: "Resign, Bud Selig!

Selig's leadership -- or lack thereof -- has left baseball confronting this steroid-laced disaster. His actions as commissioner of baseball have been either dishonest or incompetent -- or both."

The arbitrator was right in the "Kenny Rogers case". Although Rogers deserved the suspension, Selig did not follow due process. He should have known better. Selig has always been the "accidental commisioner" and it's time for him to go back to selling used cars in Milwaukee.

It's obvious that Bud Selig doesn't get it. Look at the All Star game where both teams used all their pitchers and Bud decide to call off the game. He has made stupid decisions in the past and it concerns me that he hands down 10 game suspensions for something that continues to taint the game. There was even talk that Raffy and MLB knew about the test results prior to his 3000 hit milestone. Are the owners keeping Selig around because he is such an inco petent wimp? Kick Selig to the curb with all the bums!

Elway by far is the greatest quarterback ever to play the game.
He was in 7 Superbowls, won 4 and time and time again led his team in comebacks. Montana was great too but not an Elway.

WHEN DID ELWAY WIN 4 SUPERBOWLS????

DOGNUTZZZZZZZZZ said...

Dummy!!!

Sorry, he won three Superbowls, more than your greatest quarterback (Doug Williams) stupid!!! Dogbreath!!!!!

3, really are you sure it's not 2??? 1 against the Falcons and 1 against the Packers.

I don't think D. Williams is the best Qb ever, I'm not retarded. I'm just saying that QB is a position that has a huge question mark when it comes to "best ever" due to the fact that there was rampant inequality and racism surrounding that position.

STUPID!!! LOL

I think John Elways last 2 Super Bowl victories put him in the elite. He would have still made the Hall Of Fame had he lost those 2 games.
It is hard to compare Starr and Unitas with Montana and Elway because it is such a different game now.

Saying goodbye to Selig is not enough. Bud Selig should be "banned-for-life" for his contributions to baseball. What Pete Rose did to baseball is a tick on an elephants butt when compared to this LOSER. Baseball would be shutdown right now if there was mandatory drug testing for all. Selig is in CYA mode right now, because he doesn’t want "Commissioner of Steroid Scandals" on his resume next to "Founder of Athletes for Youth". Gee, let’s protect children from getting abused, then when they grow up; turn them into Mutated-MLB-Hitting-Freaks! Why not shorten their life in exchange for $$$ (e.g., Ken Caminiti). It took extreme pressure from the public for Bud to even discuss steroids at the collective bargaining agreement table. I think we all know why.

Remember when Fletcher (Jim Carrey - "Liar Liar") is being escorted out by the bailiff and he is saying, "Don't do this to me, I have to go play with my son, I'm Jose Conseco, I'm Jose Conseco!". Wow, have the times changed since then! If only Fletcher's kid knew Conseco was playing "Buddy Ball".

Repeat after me, "banned-for-life", "banned-for-life", "banned-for-life"...

My Two Cents,

His biggest accomplishment could also be his biggest crime. Only one team left it's city while during his term, however he help extort cities into building huge stadiums with taxpayer expense.
Seattle was told that Tampa Bay had a state of the art stadium and was hungry for baseball.

By know means am I a Bud defender but when it comes to the Steroid issue how can he impose any stiffer penalties when Donald Fehr and Gene Orza are not going to allow anything steeper. The players need be responsible also you need guys not juicing to step up and call all these guys out!!

I thought that might be Schilling and then that phoney goes in front of Congress and just spews all this hate at Canseco for ratting out people, but if u are dirty I dont care get your butt out of the game.

Selig did screw up royaly with Palmerio though they had to of know that he had a positive test when he hit 3000. And for them to parade that juicer all over Safeco makes me want to Puke. To think that a juiced up Roid head freak broke a record in my city is so sad.

Hey, black, do you realize what the Seminole Indian Tribe went through during the 1800s?

Well, if you don't have any idea about it -- which is what I assume -- then here's a history lesson for you, black, the message board's resident bigot:

"The Adams-OnĂs Treaty was signed between the United States and Spain in 1819 and took effect in 1821. According to the terms of the treaty, the United States acquired Florida and, in exchange, renounced all claims to Texas. Andrew Jackson was named military governor of Florida.

As American settlement increased after the treaty, pressure grew on the Federal government to remove the Indians from their lands in Florida. Many Indian tribes harbored runaway black slaves, and the settlers wanted access to Indian lands. Georgian slaveowners also wanted the black Seminole returned to slavery.

In 1832, the United States government signed the Treaty of Payne's Landing with a few of the Seminole chiefs, promising them lands west of the Mississippi River if they agreed to leave Florida voluntarily. The remaining Seminole prepared for war. White settlers pressured the government to remove all of the Indians, by force if necessary. In 1835, the U.S. Army arrived to enforce the treaty.

Seminole leader Osceola led the vastly outnumbered resistance during the Second Seminole War. Approximately 4,000 Seminole warriors effectively employed hit-and-run guerrilla tactics with devastating effect against over 200,000 United States Army troops for many years. Osceola was arrested when he came under a flag of truce to negotiations in 1837. He died in jail less than a year later.

Other warchiefs such as Halleck Tustenuggee continued the Seminole resistance against the army. The war only ended after a full decade of fighting, in 1842. The U.S. government is estimated to have spent about $20,000,000 on the war, at the time an astronomical sum. Many Indians were forcibly exiled to Creek lands west of the Mississippi; others retreated into the Everglades. In the end, the government gave up trying to subjugate the Seminole in their Everglades redoubts and left the remaining Seminole in peace. About 1,500 American soldiers had died, but no formal peace treaty had been forced on the independent Seminole who never surrendered to the U.S. government."

P.S.: If you can tell me the etymological connotation behind both of the terms "honkey" & "cracker", then I'll give you some credit. If not, then you've futher solidified the already proven fact that you're nothing more than a monomaniacal bigot.
