Ellis couldn't play the point in the high school All-Star games; moreover he blamed his team mates and coaches for his patently obvious poor performance. Most importantly, he did it while still in the midst of the game, with looks of contemptible hubris that communicated his delusional beliefs (later verified in post game interviews) that his coaches and team mates were responsible for his piss poor performance. At very best, Ellis is a much skinnier version of dejuan Wagner, with a body frame incapable of bulking up, who already has significant knee issues; and has demonstrated a knack for being a first class prima dona without demonstrable NBA (point guard) skills/ talent (plenty of high school talent). Frankly, I'm not sure why mock drafts have him in any first rounds whatsoever; and lastly, I generally am supportive of talented high school kids coming out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1119643455336101602005-06-24T13:04:00.000-07:002005-06-24T13:04:00.000-07:00"• One team picking in the first round is hesitant..."• One team picking in the first round is hesitant to take 19-year-old point guard Monta Ellis of Lanier (Jackson, Miss.) H.S. because of a knee injury that will require arthroscopic surgery. While it isn't a major problem, the team's doctors are concerned that it will be Ellis' second scope on the same knee, raising a flag for someone so young. Firs...I don't get the Blazers/Lakers trade at all. First of all, if the Lakers are trading up, a Deron Williams or Chris Paul sort of PG doesn't make sense since the triangle offense uses the PG simply as a spot-up shooter. Secondly, there is nothing on the Lakers that Portland really would want that I can see other than perhaps Caron, and I don't see him being enough of an enticement to pass on a potential star player to Portland's most hated rival and for Portland to move down in the process. Finally, in moving down to #10 it's very likely Portland won't have a shot at either Gerald Green or Martell Webster--it's too far down the board.

So by virtually every possible measure a deal with the Lakers would be a horrible one for Portland. I know there is a source, but with so many smokescreens coming out of Portland right now I wouldn't be surprised if they have tentatively agreed to multiple deals for the pick at this point.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1119587411706360812005-06-23T21:30:00.000-07:002005-06-23T21:30:00.000-07:00If the Lakers in fact get the third pick I would a...If the Lakers in fact get the third pick I would assume they will be drafting one of the point guards and since Phil Jackson likes big point guards I would believe it would be Williams.Lockehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14492495006893271932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1119574949996370342005-06-23T18:02:00.000-07:002005-06-23T18:02:00.000-07:00I am hearing Nate anywhere from 27 to 50. Yet, for some reason teams aren't willing to pull the trigger on him. The thing that amazes me is if he does what most people think he would be a great plus 20 pick in the NBA draft.Lockehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14492495006893271932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1119574214760357712005-06-23T17:50:00.000-07:002005-06-23T17:50:00.000-07:00No Nate Robinson?
