I think his best chance is if he gets hurt with a minor injury and misses a week or so in mid August so he has a chance to rest. I don't see him doing it playing a full season. By the way, Ted Williams was the "Spendid Splinter".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1114193603875883682005-04-22T11:13:00.000-07:002005-04-22T11:13:00.000-07:00Interesting info. It is remarkable how much a 0 for 5 hurts his chances. It exemplifies how tough this is going to be.Lockehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14492495006893271932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1113863540267132422005-04-18T15:32:00.000-07:002005-04-18T15:32:00.000-07:00Yes, but will anyone East of Montana notice? Not unless Ichi's above .380 in August, and even then they'll say it doesn't count because, as David points out, Ichiro seems to try to hit singles and rarely drives anybody in.

We'll need David to do a statistical breakdown on Ted and Ichiro's respective power numbers in relation to their eras if it comes to that. But that's still a long way off.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12004593.post-1113862730581210142005-04-18T15:18:00.000-07:002005-04-18T15:18:00.000-07:00I think he can do it and I hope he does... going t...I think he can do it and I hope he does... going to make things interesting around Marinerville if he is close.Mick Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02746678049083675456noreply@blogger.com
